Feeling Dizzy? It Could Be BPPV! 🤯🌀
Have you ever rolled over in bed and suddenly felt like the room was spinning? Or stood up too fast and got hit with a wave of dizziness? You might have something called BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo), which is the most common type of vertigo, and its treatable!
What is BPPV?

Inside your inner ear, tiny crystals help you stay balanced. But sometimes, these crystals move into the wrong place, sending mixed signals to your brain. The result? Sudden, intense dizziness (vertigo), especially with head movement.
The symptoms of BPPV are unique, in that it is often:
brought on by specific movements (eg rolling in bed, getting up suddenly, bending down)
temporary (if your head is still, it settles eventually)
it can be acute or chronic -
💡 The Good News? It’s Fixable!
The Epley Maneuver is a simple, hands-on technique that helps guide those crystals back where they belong. In most cases, this stops the dizziness immediately or within a few days! It is possible to follow youtube videos and do it for yourself at home, but often having it properly assessed to determine which side its on, and guidance to ensure proper head position and speed is key to a successful outcome!
🙌 As a physiotherapist, I can assess your symptoms and perform the Epley Maneuver to help get you back on solid ground—no medication needed! If you or someone you know struggles with dizziness, let’s fix it!
